Recollections of Disposable Youth is about the loss of a particular memory. I used a photograph that has been cut down the center to remove an individual from the picture. The picture used to be of my father and me when I was a child. I focused on my dad's absence from the photograph and used that to build the figure in the book with cutouts. With each page, the figure is more exposed and leaves a silhouette of color. I use negative space in the book to show the missing piece of the photograph. The text describes the photo, and a copy of the picture is held in the jacket.
